The Kessock Bridge was closed earlier this evening following a police incident.

A MAJOR A9 bridge linking the Black Isle with Inverness has reopened following an earlier incident.

The Kessock Bridge was closed in both directions shortly after 8pm following what was called “a police incident”.

Traffic Scotland, which is responsible for monitoring Scotland’s trunk roads, flagged the incident to motorists advising road users to use alternative routes.

The bridge reopened however around 8.30pm.

It’s understood a build-up of traffic has taken some time to clear following the incident.

Police have been contacted for comment.
