Unplanned SSEN outage leaves homes in north-west Sutherland without power
UPDATE at 1pm: Two postcode areas remain affected with an estimated 26 customers affected as engineers continue to work to restore power in a small area near Skerray, between Tongue and Bettyhill.
Properties across parts of the northern coast of Caithness and Sutherland have been hit by an unplanned power outage this morning.
The fault, reported to Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) at 8.39am, is affecting homes in the postcode areas IV27 and KW14, between Durness and Melvich.
SSEN engineers are currently on site and aim to restore power to the area by 2pm.
Affected postcodes include:
IV27 - 4EH 4UE 4UF 4UG 4UH 4UJ 4UN 4UQ 4XT
KW11 - 6UA 6UG
KW14 - 7RZ 7SA 7SG 7SP 7SQ 7SR 7SS 7ST 7SU 7SX 7SY 7SZ 7TA 7TB 7TD 7TH 7TJ
"We're sorry for the loss of supply," SSEN said on its Powertrack website. "We currently have a fault.
"Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as the can.
