The University of the Highlands and Islands is holding open days for people considering careers in nursing, optometry and dental therapy.

Staff will be on hand at the Centre for Health Science in Inverness to provide information, answer questions and give tours of the state-of-the-art clinical facilities.

The University of the Highlands and Islands partnership offers a range of health-related courses, including BSc degrees in oral health science and nursing and a BSc (Hons) in optometry.

Fiona Skinner, subject network leader applied life studies, said: "This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who wants to find out more about these health professions. I would encourage people of any age to come along, with your friends or family, to find out how interesting these courses are. Please take this opportunity to see the practical sessions as well as talk to the lecturers about what the programmes consist of, including brilliant placement opportunities. The programmes all lead to varied and rewarding careers."
