AN Ullapool music night, known to be the most remote club event in Scotland, is set to return in November.

Baile/baile is set to return to the Highland village of Ullapool this November for its second series, taking place at the Ceilidh Place Venue, with the first night in the series taking place on Saturday November 9.

The club night first launched in 2023, with a series of four old-out parties which showcased Highland talents, as well as bringing renowned DJs, producers and party-starters to the Wester Ross village.

Coming from a background of architecture and community engagement, co-founders Sigi Whittle and Jemima Fasakin built the concept of baile/baile with the Highland community at its core. The project has the aim of promoting local events to the people of the rural Highlands, which draw directly from Scottish talent.

The club nights also deliberately run through the winter months, during the tourism off-season.

The 2024/25 series comprises:

• November 9 — Tekhole and Lucky Dip + resident DJs

• December 14 — Mackerel Sky and Sweet Philly + resident DJs

• February 8 — Dansa and LWS + resident DJs

• March 8 — Sof Sof and DADs + resident DJs

Sigi Whittle, baile/baile co-founder and resident DJ says: "Returning to Ullapool to host baile/baile over the last 12-months has reignited my love for my village and community in the north west Highlands. The reception and enthusiasm we have received from friends and neighbours is beyond anything we could have imagined, and we are so proud of everything it has achieved. Bring on 2024!”

Jemima Faskin, co-founder and resident DJ added: “It’s so exciting to be heading back up to Ullapool and the Ceilidh Place, where we started with everything. This past year has been so much fun, and we’re really proud of everything we’ve been able to do with baile/baile so far. I can’t wait to be able to share everything we have planned for the next series of parties! It’s going to be a great winter.”
