ULLAPOOL Bookshop has announced that the author of its best-selling book, The Faultline, is now planning the third book in the series.

The Faultline was Ullapool Bookshop’s best-selling book ever in 2023, and 2024 so far. McLellan’s second novel, Unconformity, has been reprinted a mere five months after publication, due to high demand.

Copies have been sold throughout bookshops in Scotland and online, with copies also being sent across Europe and beyond. The Torridon and the Kinlochewe area, which feature in his books, have always been important to John.

He said: “The Kinlochewe area and Torridon are forever with me, and part of my soul is always wandering in that part of Wester Ross, even when I am not physically up there.”

In a recent review published in Bookselling Essentials magazine, Katharine Douglas from Ullapool Bookshop wrote: “Unconformity is about finding out who we really are, it is also a real homage to the landscape of our wonderful country.”

John is now researching and planning the third novel in his geologically-inspired series and is very grateful to the readers, friends and supporters who have encouraged him so far on his journey.”
