Trains suspended between Inverness and central belt

Train services between Inverness and Glasgow and Edinburgh have been suspended.

Rail passengers are facing major disruption with services between Inverness and the central belt suspended due to damaged signalling equipment and the track.

The problem, between Perth and Pitlochry, has been caused by heavy flooding.

ScotRail has announced its services between Edinburgh and Inverness and Glasgow Queen Street and Inverness are suspended.

The disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.

Services between Inverness and Edinburgh/Glasgow Queen Street will terminate at Pitlochry

Currently, it has "very limited" buses at Perth conveying customers between Perth and Pitlochry for train service to Inverness

Passengers are being advised to postpone their journey until services return to normal.
