Three people confirmed dead in road accident on A9 at the Slochd in the Highlands

Police Scotland have confirmed that three people have died following a road crash on the A9 at Slochd Summit yesterday.

The accident happened at about 11.40am and the road was closed with diversions in place until 9.30pm.

Three fire engines were sent to the incident along with an air ambulance. Four people were taken to hospital.

A force spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision."

No further information is being provided at this time by Police Scotland.
