Thirty-four new Covid cases are recorded in the NHS Highland area

THIRTY-FOUR new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the NHS Highland area over the past day.

It brings to 4148 the total number of cases notified in the region.

The health board area's seven-day total was 219.

Across Scotland, a total of 895 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

A total of 17,940 new tests that reported results gave a positive rate of 5.9 per cent.

Sadly, 48 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive were reported.

Some 117 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19

A total of 786,427 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 10,332 have received their second dose, according to the statistics released today.
