Motorists are being warned of mobile road works on the A9 between Tomatin and Moy.

Motorists using the A9 are being urged to continue to drive with care on approach to the section between Tomatin and Moy where temporary traffic signals are in place for more than one month.

They have been installed to allow further ground investigation works on the verges of the northbound and southbound carriageways to be undertaken.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "The temporary two-way traffic signals were put in place on the A9 from Monday for approximately five weeks to ensure the safety of road users and operatives."

They are covering the north of Moy junction, near Lynebeg and south of Tomatin north junction.

Due to the nature of the works the exact location of the signals may vary.

The temporary signals are expected to be in place full time during this period, however, may be removed as works allow.

As traffic management will change during the 5 week period, road users are asked to take care on approach to the works area and to follow all temporary signage in place.

The ground investigation is part of preparatory works ahead of the A9 dualling: Tomatin to Moy project.
