Tain care home folk having all the fun of the fair

Care home residents in Tain have been continuing their series of summer activities with a fun fair in the garden.

Residents at Innis Mhor enjoyed all the fun of the fair including a candy floss stall, coconut shy and games such as hook the duck and whack a mole – featuring care staff as moles.

Local musicians Keilan Ross and Geordie Jack provided the musical entertainment as residents enjoyed a drink from the beer tent.

Innis Mhor is still essentially in lockdown, with no visits into the community allowed, but that hasn’t hampered the residents’ ability to enjoy themselves. This summer, the home has hosted a music festival, Highland Games and a tennis tournament.

Manager Jackie Macrae said: “It has been a challenging few months for all of us, so it does us all the power of good to let our hair down from time to time. The residents have really enjoyed our summer activities and once again we’re truly grateful to the staff and performers who helped make it such a memorable day.”
