The Danish billionaire who has become Scotland’s largest landowner – and owns several estates in Sutherland - has lost three of his children in the Sri Lankan terror attack.
Father-of-four Anders Holch Povlsen's children were visiting Sri Lanka over the Easter holiday when the bombings left 290 people dead, including eight Britons.
Three days before the attacks Mr Povlsen's daughter Alma shared an Instagram photo of her siblings Astrid, Agnes and Alfred - calling them "three little bears" - in front of a swimming pool lined by palm trees.
The 46-year-old billionaire and his wife Anne have not said which of their three children died in the attack.
Retail mogul Mr Povlsen - through his company Wildland Ltd - owns 12 estates, covering a total of more than 220,000 acres. The acquisitions have cost more than £100m.
He and his wife Anne, 40, talked last week of their vision for the land spelling out their plans for each individual estate, such as Glenfeshie, Eriboll and Polla, Braegill and Hope, Gaick and Ben Loyal.
