Five stunning wall hangings were unveiled at their permanent home – the Highland Council offices at Drummuie, Golspie.

Led by artist Sally Wild and Trish Matthews of the Brora Learning Centre, the project involved over 25 friends from the centre, as well as a number of other “crafty” East Sutherland ladies.

Taking over 140 hours to complete, the hangings were inspired by the natural history of Sutherland.

Forty panels with otters, seals, wildcats, goats and many more subjects were hand painting on silk before being painstakingly stitched together by a team of seamstresses.

The project was supported by the Highland Council.
