NHS Highland is urging as many people as possible to come forward for their Covid spring booster jab when invited to do so.

Dr Tim Allison, the director of public health, pointed out that ensuring high levels of vaccination across all age groups is important in controlling the virus.

“We’ve had a good uptake of vaccination in NHS Highland which has given us protection across our community," Dr Allison said.

“Lots of people have already come forward for the spring booster but there are still plenty of clinic places left.

“Getting high levels of vaccine coverage in all age groups is important for controlling Covid, both now and in the future, so I would encourage everyone still wondering whether or not to get their vaccine to please come forward when invited.”

Vaccination clinics are planned for Sutherland throughout May, including Dornoch (May 14), Bonar Bridge (May 17), Lochinver and Scourie (May 24), Kinlochbervie and Durness (May 25), Tongue (May 26), Armadale (May 26) and Melvich (May 27).

Full details of the vaccination programme can be found on the NHS Highland website.
