North Coast Campus pupils were delighted to receive a virtual visit from Santa and four of his elves last week.

Primary deputy head teacher Veronica Nicol said staff at Farr, Melvich and Tongue schools had put their heads together to think up a way of treating the children.

“We wanted to make the countdown to Christmas extra special for all our pupils as they have been working so hard and coping so well in the current Covid crisis,” she said.

Ms Nicol approached Stagestars Scotland, a school for performing arts based in Keith, Moray, and asked if they would be able to help in any way.

“In true Stagestars magical form, a video was created especially for the North Coast Campus primary and early learning centre pupils,” she said. “This was personalised for them with the elves telling Santa all about things they had noticed around the campus and about how well the children had been getting on.”

Ms Nicol added: “It was magical – the children were in awe watching the video. They loved hearing the elves speaking about what they have been up to as well as hearing about the other children across the campus.”

After listening to the virtual Santa tell the Christmas story, the children were told to look outside their classroom door where they discovered gifts for each of them.

Stagestars produced the video free of charge and Thurso Tesco and the three parent councils provided the gifts.
