DINGWALL and Highland Marts Ltd today sold 888 prime sheep and seven prime cattle.
Prime bullocks (1) averaged 230.0p (N/C) and sold to 230.0p per kg and £1,575.50 gross for a 685kg Limousin cross from Ashley, North Kessock.
Prime heifers (3) averaged 232.6p (-10.8p) and sold to 243.0p per kg for a 580kg Limousin cross from Ashley, North Kessock and £1,550.40 gross for a 680kg Limousin cross also from Ashley, North Kessock.

Old season lambs (631) averaged 260.5p (+10.6p) and sold to 298.9p per kg and £133 gross for 44.5kg Beltex crosses from Torgorm, Conon Bridge.
Feeding sheep (257) sold to £156 gross for a Texel ewe from Muirton Mains, Urray.
The auctioneer's verdict: “With increased numbers forward and a large ringside of buyers this week’s trade was a good bit sharper.
"As stated last week by my colleague in his report it really makes sense to get amongst your hoggs and take advantage of this situation. With more Blackies amongst the ewes this week the average was slightly back on last week but still registering a healthy £92.89. Please contact any of the team if requiring hoggs drawn.”
