Individual schools across Sutherland and the rest of the Highlands will get to choose whether or not to let pupils get to watch Scotland's opening Euro 2020 match against the Czech Republic on Monday.

Highland Council has confirmed that it has a devolved school management of more than 200 schools across the region.

A council spokeswoman said: "Decisions on watching sporting events are made at a local school level."

The tournament kicks off tomorrow with the first group stage match featuring Turkey vs Italy.
