Royal Dornock kiltgolf raises £1.3k for Marie Curie

Organisers of a fundraising kilted golf event at Royal Dornoch Golf Club in aid of a cancer charity were delighted at the level of participation.

A total of 15 teams took part in the Marie Curie Kiltgolf fundraiser on the Struie Course last Wednesday, April 14.

And golfers entered into the spirit of the event, donning tartan kilts and skirts as well as yellow tabards, T-shirts and hats promoting the fundraiser.

Kiltgolf organisers were Wilma Murray, Fiona MacDonald, Trish Weeks and Moira Rennie.

The women expressed delight at the high number of of entries.

And there was also delight at the amazing amount raised – more than £1300.

Winners were Theresa Campbell and Patsy Mackay who scooped a 4-ball at Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club.

A lucky draw was held for a framed picture of the championship course donated by Matthew Harris.

Marie Curie's virtual kiltwalk takes place this weekend from Friday to Sunday, April 23-25.

People are being encouraged to dust off their best tartan and raise money through taking part in various activities.
