Roadworks are due to start on the A9 north of Crubenmore tomorrow (Thursday)

Delays can be expected on the A9 north of Crubenmore from today as essential resurfacing work begins.

BEAR Scotland, the company responsible for roads maintenance in the area, is carrying out the work at Glentrium junction on behalf of Transport Scotland.

The carriageway improvement work will take place from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm from Thursday, July 2 until Monday, July 6, but no work will be carried out at the weekend.

While the road will remain open throughout, a 10 mph convoy traffic management system will be put in place to ensure the safety of road workers and the travelling public.

The convoy system will be removed outwith working hours, but a 30mph speed limit will remain in place for traffic over a temporary road surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland are asking road users and the local community to remain patient during the essential works.
