Roads in Sutherland and Caithness hit by overnight snow and ice

A number of roads across the far north were affected by overnight snow this morning.
There was frost on all routes in Caithness in the early hours of Wednesday, with some icy patches.
Highland Council roads teams reported a light covering of snow in the north-west of the county, with up to 1.5 inches of snow in places.
In Sutherland, snowfall was continuing with more than one inch of snow on many routes. and up to 12 inches of snow affecting the A894 between Sliag Junction and Kylesku.
Snow was also affecting main routes across the Highlands, including the A9 this morning.
