Roads in East Sutherland and on the north coast to close for Openreach works
Highland Council is advising motorists of upcoming road closures in East Sutherland and on the north coast.
A section of the Hilton West Road (U3234) at Dornoch will be closed between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Monday, July 8.
The affected section is from the U3234’s junction with the C1026, which runs from Dornoch towards Embo.
The closure is to allow Openreach to replace a telecommunications pole.
A Highland Council spokesperson said traffic would be allowed through on an “ad-hoc basis”.
Meanwhile the A836 Tongue to Lairg Road will be closed from the Tongue landfill site access to the C1086 link road from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 23.
This closure is also to allow Openreach to replace a pole.
Highland Council said a diverson will be put in place via the A838 Lairg-Durness-Tongue road.
Openreach runs the UK’s digital network.
