A section of road off the A837 from Invershin to Lochinver has been temporarily closed due to works on a damaged bridge.
The single track road, situated just past Woodburn farm on the road to Altass, will remain closed until repairs are carried out on the bridge.
Impact to both sides of the bridge has left holes in its masonry walls, which will require significant repair to make it safe for use.
It is suspected that the damage was caused by a large vehicle carrying seasoned wood.
Repairs are expected to continue for another three weeks.
Drivers requiring access to properties in close proximity to the bridge have been offered diversion routes via Altass.
A spokesperson for the Highland Council said: "The road has been closed to allow for emergency repairs to a masonry bridge which sustained damage on or around Monday May 23.
"The majority of the bridge supporting masonry parapet has required removal to allow the installation of scaffolding prior to rebuilding of the parapet.
"As this is narrow single track road / bridge there is insufficient space to allow traffic to pass the site.
"I would estimate that the works should be complete and the wall of sufficient strength to allow reopening around June 20.
"There are local diversions available via Altass which at a maximum would add five minutes to a journey accessing properties in close proximity to the bridge."
