RNLI Kessock lifeboat launch after reports of 'unidentified object' in water near Rosemarkie beach on Black Isle
REPORTS of an unidentified object in the water near the beach at Rosemarkie triggered the launch of a lifeboat on Saturday.
RNLI Kessock's crew was requested to launch at 2.23pm to investigate the reports relating to an area of water near a mooring buoy just off Rosemarkie Beach.
On arrival and in liaison with the local HM Coastguard, the volunteer crew was satisfied that there was nothing of note to report and were stood down to return to station.
Helm Dougie Munro said: "Our whole crew response today from boat and shore teams was excellent as always and greatly appreciated. Thankfully the concern raised by the member of the public was resolved.
"The weather conditions afforded us a good opportunity on the return to station for some training in rough weather boat handling allowing new crew to experience some choppy water with wind over tide."
The boat was washed, refuelled and available for service by 4.15pm.
