The Ness Islands, on the River Ness in Inverness, will be closed for public safety for two days next week so that essential tree work can be carried out.
All public access will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday to allow contractors working on behalf of Highland Council to fell a large larch tree.
A council spokeswoman said: "The larch, which overhangs a public path, has been identified as dead and requires removal for public safety.
"Both gates at the General's Well on Bught Road and on Island Bank road will be closed to all.
"The nearest alternative pedestrian crossing of the River Ness is at Infirmary Bridge."
The council has thanked the public in advance for their cooperation.
