The mock speed cop outside Reay Primary School has been stolen, according to police.

A cut-out police officer has been stolen from outside a school in Reay.

Two of the 'traffic cops' – designed to deter motorists travelling through the village from speeding – were put in place last month.

The plastic robocops, dressed in hi-vis jackets and pointing speed guns, were stationed opposite the primary school and on the long straight stretch between the golf course and the village store.

Now police say the one outside Reay Primary School, which was securely fixed to a lamppost, has been stolen.

Officers are appealing for information regarding the theft, which took place between 10am and 4pm on Friday, September 10.

Anybody with information is asked to contact 101 and quote reference 20210910-3239.
