Plans in place for Rogart War Memorial 100th anniversary ceremony

Further details have been released of the ceremony planned to mark the centenary of Rogart War Memorial on Saturday, September 24.
A service will be led by Rev Hilary Gardner, Lairg, during which all 46 names on the monument will be read out by Christina Perera of Rogart Heritage Society.
A cross for each name will be laid by local schoolchildren and relatives of the Fallen.

The piper for the occasion has been named as Dr Alasdair B Mearns and the commemoration will start at 10.30am.
A soup and sandwich lunch will be held afterwards at Pittentrail Hall.
The ceremony is being organised by the Creich and Kincardine branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland which is joined with Rogart and Lairg branches.
Vice-chairman Donald McNeill said: "It would be helpful if people who intend to be present contact me (01862 810689) so I have an idea of numbers."
