A TEAM from a tiny Sutherland primary school has notched up a major achievement in a national competition.

The four-strong team from Rosehall primary has come 11th out of 29 schools in the finals of Euroquiz, held in the Debating Chamber of the Scottish Parliament on June 13.

Euroquiz is run annually by the Scottish European Educational Trust (SEET) and is open to all P6 pupils across Scotland. Rosehall won the Highland regional heat earlier this year

School representative Sarah Forrest said: “We’re particularly proud because we only have 11 pupils and had to put forward a mixed team, aged from P7 to P4. All the other teams were P6 and from much larger schools.

"It’s a great achievement for the children. The whole school went to Edinburgh – a feat in itself, involving a mini bus, train and Megabus. It was a big adventure!”
