PICTURES: Tea in the Parklands festival allows Tain care home residents chance to let their hair down; Birthday girl (100) amongst revellers
A Tain care home has staged its second music festival during the coronavirus pandemic with a centenarian amongst the revellers.
While many major festivals have fallen foul of Covid-19, it was a case of the show must go on for Innis Mhor in Tain which thtrew its Tea in the Parklands event this week.
Residents including birthday girl Isma Munro (100) enjoyed access to a cocktail bar, barbecue, stalls and a tattoo parlour while local duo Carol and June performed classic songs.
Home manager Jackie Macrae said: “After a long and difficult winter, it was great to let our hair down, get out into the fresh air and have some fun again.The residents had a ball and the weather was very good to us.”
Innis Mhor is part of the Parklands Care Homes group and has been shortlisted at the national Care Home Awards in the Best for Sporting, Social or Leisure Activities category.
