Pupils at Farr Primary School and Early Learning Centre were thrilled to be given Bookbug and Read Write Count bags during Book Week Scotland.

The annual celebration of books and reading took place across the country last month, supported by Creative Scotland and the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC).

The week was celebrated in libraries and schools across Sutherland with special events and exhibitions held.

At Farr Primary, all the children took part in a paired read with the older pupils enjoying sharing stories with younger ones.

Early Years Practitioner Magda Mackay said: “It was so lovely to see all the children together again and enjoying their books.

“It has been a long times since the last paired read at Farr and all the pupils voted it a great success.”

The age-appropriate bags contain picture books and other fun items.
