Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki looked the spitting image of Princess Diana as she stepped out of Ardverikie House on the shore of Loch Laggan.

Elizabeth, (30), was spotted filming scenes midweek for the Netflix show The Crown alongside two young actors playing Prince Harry and Prince William.

She has taken over the role of the late princess from Emma Corrin in the fifth and sixth series of the hit series.

The actress said of her casting last year: 'Princess Diana's spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many.

"It is my privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.'

After studying drama at the Victorian College of the Arts, Debicki made her film debut with a brief role in the Australian comedy A Few Best Men.

She won the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in The Great Gatsby and since then her career has really taken off.

Her movie and TV credits include Tenet, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Peter Rabbit, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, The Kettering Incident and The Night Manager.

The latest outing of The Crown which charts the ups and downs in the lives of the Royal Family will cover the Nineties which, of course, included Diana's death in a car crash in Paris in 1997

Imelda Staunton has taken over the role of The Queen played in earlier series by Olivia Coleman and Claire Foy while veteran actor and erstwhile Bond baddie Jonathan Price has been cast as the older Prince Philip.

Ardverikie Estate House at Kinlochlaggan has already appeared in earlier episodes of The Crown doubling as Balmoral Castle.

Queen Victoria almost bought the picturesque house by Laggan but was driven away by midges before settling on the Donside hideaway.

Ardverikie is already well-known to TV and movie fans through the likes of BBC Sunday night comedy drama Monarch of the Glen in which the estate doubled as Glenbogle and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen starring Ewan McGregor.

Ardverikie is set for its latest movie star role when the much anticipated James Bond blockbuster 'No Time to Die' is finally released next month after being hit by regular delays due to the Covid pandemic.
