“Teamwork and energy” was the order of the day as pupils at Farr Primary School celebrated Halloween with a Great Pumpkin Hunt.
The fun and challenging exercise was designed to promote teamwork, communication, and problem-solving across all year groups.
Working in their house teams, pupils followed a special code system to identify their team’s pumpkins from the field, using logic, memory, and strategy under time pressure.
The activity encouraged clear communication, cooperation, and planning, while developing key health and wellbeing, numeracy, and social studies skills such as leadership, resilience, and collaboration.
The school extended its sincere thanks to Tesco Store Wick for donating the pumpkins, and to Natasha Mackay (youth development officer for the North Coast Campus) and class teacher Jessica McEwan for collecting them.
Principal Teacher Ashley Wakeling said: “It was fantastic to see pupils of all ages working together and showing such enthusiasm. The teamwork and energy on display captured the true spirit of our school community.”
