A FOUR-day "mini-carnival" held from July 26-29 in lieu of the traditional Brora Carnival Week has been a great success, organisers have said.

The festival, scaled back because of the coronavirus pandemic, included the ever popular duck race, a sandcastle competition, heritage walk and car treasure hunt as well as a drive-in bingo night and quiz night.

A spokesman said: "Thanks to everyone who came out to support our mini carnival. It was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves."

And thoughts are already turning to next year with the carnival committee appealing for volunteers to help organise events in advance or simply to turn up on the day and help out.

The spokesman said: "Hopefully we will be back to a full week packed with lots of events."

Donations to Brora Carnival Week can be made on its Go Fund Me page.
