PICTURES: Bettyhill community celebrates festive season at third Firefest
Bettyhill’s third winter Firefest proved to be a Christmas cracker of an event.
Organised by the village’s Stoer Bistro and Bar and animal feed company ARL Agri, the Firefest took place in Bettyhill War Memorial car park last Saturday from 3pm-7pm.
A large crowd turned out to browse round the craft stalls, take part in tastings, and enjoy music from local school band Echo and local musician Kate Reid.
Food and drink were on offer with a hog roast and a full bar serving boozy hot chocolate and cocktails.

Carols were sung, and the village’s Christmas tree lights were switched on by long-time Bettyhill resident and former teacher Mary Wood.
Joanna Mackenzie from the Stoer Bistro and Bar said: “The weather was outstanding; there was great music. Marshmallows were toasted and mulled wine sipped as the community came together to kick off the festive period with one another.”
