Patience plea over Covid vaccination as rollout effort ramped up
PEOPLE still awaiting their first Covid-19 vaccination dose are being urged to remain patient – and being reminded it is likely to be offered earlier than initial estimates.
Dr Ross Jaffrey of the Safe Hands, Saves Lives group which is monitoring figures and offering a medical perspective of the pandemic posted: " Vaccination efforts are beginning to ramp up again as supply reappears.
"Our most vulnerable groups are beginning to be offered their second dose.
"Remember this may hit you harder than the first, and will provide its strongest protection after three weeks. Will be great to swell the number of fully vaccinated people."
He added: "Those waiting for their first dose will still get it, please be patient, it is likely to be offered MUCH earlier than first anticipated at the beginning of the vaccination effort."
The group was set up at the start of the first lockdown to encourage the widespread practice of good hand hygiene and the use of sanitiser.
