THE parents of a vulnerable 29-year-old woman missing in the Highlands have made a plea to residents to keep a look out for their daughter.

Mary Sweetman, from west Wales, is autistic and “very vulnerable” according to her parents. Contact was last made with Mary on July 2, before her phone switched off.

Mary had been talking to her parents about going wild camping, and was last spotted getting off a bus in Inverness with camping gear.

She had Bus 25 Inverness to Alness in her phone search history, leading her parents to believe she may be in the Easter Ross area.

Her parents are now searching Highland towns and villages in the hope of finding her.

Sonia Blakely, Mary’s mother, said: “We are networking with the local people to try and find her. We just don’t know — we only have minimal information to go on.

“She’s been very depressed and struggles with mental health, she’s very vulnerable. There’s potentially a lot of big risks for her.”

If you have any information about Mary’s whereabouts, contact Sonia Blakely on 079048 70946.

Wales Police and Police Scotland are understood to be aware of the situation.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
