PANTOMIME: Theatre Presto brings Aladdin to Tongue and Melvich
North coast school pupils and residents in a local care home are being treated to a festive pantomime.
The Glasgow-based Theatre Presto is bringing its interactive family pantomime Aladdin to Tongue and Melvich tomorrow, Friday December 6.
A performance will take place at Tongue Primary School at 10.30am and at Melvich Care Home at2.30pm.
Theatre Presto prides itself on bringing shows to the “doorstep” of people across Scotland who might not normally have access to theatre.
North coast residents will also have the opportunity to see Aladdin with a public performance at Tongue Village Hall from 6.30pm on Friday. A spokesperson for the theatre company said: “The show at Tongue Village Hall is the only public performance we are doing this December.”
The company moves on to Wick and Thurso tomorrow, December 7, where it will be performing at Seaview House Nursing Home, Wick, and Bayview House, Thurso.
Theatre Presto was founded in 2011 by Preston Clare, a dancer, singer and actor. Mr Clare has written all the productions and also acts and makes all the costumes, props and sets in each production.
The hour-long pantomime extravaganza has been described as a “magical theatrical experience, full of Eastern-Scottish promise”, and includes a sing-along of favourite Christmas songs
