Organisers cancel 2020 Embo Country Music Weekend 'with a heavy heart' as coronavirus pandemic continues to weak havoc on north events

It is a much anticipated weekend that sets a Sutherland village rocking.

But unfortunately organisers of the popular Embo Country Music Weekend have announced that the 2020 event has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

It was to have been held from Friday to Sunday, November 6-8 at Grannie’s Hielan’ Hame caravan and camping site.

A spokeswoman said it had been decided to postpone the event “with a heavy heart”.

She said: “The safety of all our attendees, the parks staff and the artistes is our first and foremost concern.

“As much as we all want the event to go ahead to bring us all some much needed cheer, it is out of our hands.”

She added: “For those attending, you should have received email notification however if you haven’t received this or through your chosen method of contact then please message this page or email nhe@mail.com to find out how we have secured your booking for next year’s event.

The 2021 event has been scheduled to take place from November 5-7.
