One more case of Coronavirus in NHS Highland area

THE Highlands' four day run without freshly confirmed cases of Covid-19 has ended after one more person was diagnosed with the coronavirus.
The number of people who have tested positive for the virus in the NHS Highland area now stands at 338, although the number of patients in hospital being treated for confirmed Covid-19 remained static as nine.
News of the minor rise in confirmed Highland cases came as 18 more people tested positive across Scotland as a whole. There have now been 15,418 positive tests since the pandemic started.
But there are fears that the progress made in containing the virus will be undermined by people flouting continuing lockdown rules – with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirming nearly 800 people had to be dispersed by police across the country over the weekend.
The First Minister has hit out at the small minority of people failing to stick to the lockdown measures as it gradually eases.
Elsewhere in the north of Scotland, there were no fresh cases in Shetland, Orkney or Eileanan Siar.
Four new positive tests were confirmed in NHS Grampian, which has now had 1278. The number of people being treated in its hospitals for the virus also increased, from 66 to 69.
But in NHS Tayside there were no newly-confirmed cases. It has had 1671 positive tests since the start of the pandemic. The number of those who tested positive and were receiving hospital treatment last night stood at 10 – up one from the previous day.
