NHS Highland area on sixth day without any new Covid-19 cases

SIX days have now passed since the latest reported positive test for Covid-19 in the NHS Highland area.

The health board area's cumulative number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic remained at 381 when the latest daily update was published this afternoon.

Across Scotland there were 17 new positive tests recorded in the past 24 hours.

In the wider north of Scotland, there were once again no further new cases in Orkney, Shetland or Eileanan Siar. But mainland health board areas for Grampian and Tayside both registered fresh positive tests. Grampian recorded a further two to take its cumulative total to 1448, while Tayside also registered a couple of additional cases to see its total rise to 1787.

Nationally, Scotland once again went another day without registering any deaths among people who have tested positive for the virus.

The number of people being treated in Scottish hospitals for the virus also remained unchanged on 260, with two of those in intensive care.
