The new vehicle park is situated at Dornoch South in Shore Road around 100 yards from the town square.

Owned by Dornoch Area Community Interest Company (DACIC), but run by Highland Council, it is a pay and display park.

A spokesman for DACIC said: "Coaches will no longer be permitted to park in the square which will be reserved for service buses. Only day time parking of motorhomes is permitted."

DACIC was supported by the Scottish Land Fund to purchase the former abattoir site in March 2021 and funding for the vehicle park has been sourced from a range of organisations.

Four electric charging points are included and six dedicated motorhome spaces.
