Choristers who want to get ahead of the curve with lyrics and music for Gaelic competitions in 2022 shouldn't have too much longer to wait.

An Comunn Gàidhealach organisers of the Royal National Mòd, which will take place in Perth in October 2022, has said it will soon announce the prescribed songs for competitions.

In October, An Comunn held a successful hybrid Mòd in Inverness, attracting attention from all over the globe.

In a statement, it said: "It’s hard to believe that a fortnight has passed since the 2021 Royal National Mòd came to a close!

"What a fantastic event and a huge thanks to everyone that was involved in making it so successful.

"We’ve had a few questions come in, asking about the prescribed pieces for the 2022 Royal National Mòd in Perth and when further information will be coming out.

"We’re working hard on these just now and we’re pleased to let you know that they will be made available in November – so keep an eye out for more news on this via our social media channels and the An Comunn Gàidhealach website: www.ancomunn.co.uk."
