Motor boat owner left adrift after oil cooler burst, thanks Lochinver lifeboat for going to his rescue

The owner of a motor boat which broke down at sea at the weekend has publicly thanked the crew of Lochinver lifeboat for going to his rescue.
The lifeboat was called out just after 7pm on Sunday to go to the aid of Charlie Mcbride who was adrift in his boat north east of Loch Ewe.
A post on the Lochinver RNLI page states: "The lifeboat arrived alongside the motor boat an hour later and took her under tow back to Lochinver, arriving at about 11pm.
The motor boat was placed safely at the pontoons and the lifeboat was refuelled and ready for service again by 11:30 pm."
On social media. Mr Mcbride said: "A massive thanks to Lochinver Lifeboat crew for a professional and text book tow ashore of some 25 miles last evening with a burst oil cooler.
"Thanks also to Stornoway and Belfast coastguard for their coordination and assistance."
