Invergordon gearing up for 2025 cruise line season

THOUSANDS of passengers from around the world will get their first taste of the Highlands when arriving at an Easter Ross port later this year.

The cruise ship schedule for 2025 season visits to the deepwater port of Invergordon indicates returns from some massive, head-turning liners from April 16 through to October 29.

The 2024 season saw 118 ships carrying over 213,000 passengers and over 83,000 crew.

That resulted in a massive spin-off for coach tours, many offering whistlestop tours for a Highland highlights’ packages. A video posted by the Port of Cromarty Firth indicates more than 3000 coach trips.

The first scheduled visit according to a list published by the Port of Cromarty Firth is AIDA Cruises’ AIDASol, expected to bring up to 2300 passengers on April 16.

The German vessel - which was the final visitor of the 2024 season - will make several visits to the Easter Ross port in 2025.

Princess Cruises’ Regal Princess is expected to bring 3800 passengers on April 25 and will also make several visits over the course of the season.

The largest number of passengers brought in on one ship is likely to be aboard MSC Cruises’ Preziosa which has capacity for up to 4200 people.

Port of Cromarty Firth in Invergordon posted: “We are already planning for a busy 2025 cruise season, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible season we had in 2024.

“With 118 ships and over 213,000 passengers visiting the Highlands, it was a busy year. Enjoy this video of the 2024 season highlights.”

The trade has been estimated to be worth up to £20m a year to the Highland economy.
