Highland ice patch alert as Met Office issues yellow weather warning
A MET Office weather warning for ice has been issued for the Highlands this morning.
A dip in temperature will see icy patches forming on roads, particularly on untreated surfaces, leading to tricky travel conditions in places, the agency warns.
Its Yellow warning advises of the potential for some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and the likelihood of icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
Forecasters say this morning will see a mix of sunny spells and blustery showers, these mixed in with hail, sleet and snow.
In the afternoon there will be further blustery showers but also some sunshine at times.
Tomorrow morning is excpected to be wet and windy with heavy and persistent rain. In the afternoon the rain will turn to wintry showers in places. It will feel colder due to the strong winds.
