A SUTHERLAND driver who was found to be over the drink-driving limit, has been fined £325 and banned from driving for a year.

Anson Mackay (33) pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court today.

The court was told that Mackay, a chef, of Rhuvra House, Melvich, was traced to a friend's address, following a road accident a Janetstown, near Thurso, on May 29.

He was breath-tested positive and a further test at Wick Police Station revealed a level of 47 mgs – the limit is 22 mgs.
