Deadline for UK Community Renewal Fund prompts call to action to local organisations by Highland Council
HIGHLAND organisations keen to bid into a "renewal" fund that aims to develop skills, local business and support people into work have been given a deadline.
The UK Government’s recent announcement on the UK Community Renewal Fund has prompted Highland Council to seek bids from organisations wishing to deliver activity as part of the fund.
Eligible applicants can come from public sector organisations, higher and further education institutions, private sector companies and registered charities.
It is predominantly a revenue-based fund and bids will be for 2021/22 only, with activity ending by the end of March 2022.
Project delivery must align with at least one of the investment priorities contained within the UK Community Renewal Fund Prospectus:
Investment in skills
Investment for local business
Investment in communities and place
Supporting people into employment
The UK Government anticipates supporting a range of projects by theme and size, but applicants "are encouraged to maximise impact and deliverability through larger projects" (£500,000-plus) where this is possible.
For the Highland Council area, the minimum project value that will be considered is a £50,000 bid.
