Man charged in relation to Tain break-ins

Police Scotland has confirmed that a man has been charged in connection with a series of incidents in the Tain area.

The 30-year-old has been charged in connection with two attempted break-ins and one vandalism at businesses in the town.

The incidents were committed overnight between Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20.

He has been reported to the procurator fiscal and is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court at a later date.

Inspector Fiona Lake of Tain Police Station said: "Extensive enquiries were carried out, resulting in this individual being arrested in connection with a number of offences affecting several businesses in the Tain area.

"We are grateful to the various people who have assisted with this enquiry."
