Highland motorists who witnessed ‘serious’ crash on A9 near Tomich in Easter Ross being sought by Police Scotland officers; one man arrested in connection with incident
Police investigating a serious crash on the A9 that left two people in hospital have appealed for witnesses and arrested a man.
A white Peugeot Bipper van and a grey Cupra Formentor collided on the A9 near Tomich in Easter Ross at around 6.40am on Tuesday.
The female driver of the car and male driver of the van both suffered “serious” but not life-threatening injuries and were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment..
The road was closed for around five hours.
In an update on Tuesday evening, police said a 32-year-old man had been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries remained ongoing.
They have now appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward as their enquiries continue.
Sergeant Douglas Scott, from the Dingwall Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident take place and has yet to speak with police to come forward.
“We are also keen to speak with any motorists who were traveling on the A9 in the area around the time of the incident, and may have seen the vehicles involved.
“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call police on 101, quoting ‘incident 0431 of January 21.”
