Man pleades guilty at Tain

A MAN pleaded guilty today to using counterfeit £20 notes at various stores in Ross-shire and Sutherland in June last year.

Lee Tuckley (28) of Station Street, Bloxwich, appeared at Tain Sheriff Court.

Tuckley admitted tendering the counterfeit Bank of England notes, which he knew or believed to be counterfeits, on June 26, 2010 at Morangie Filling Station, Tain; the Co-op supermarket, Main Street, Golspie; the Co-op, Gower Street, Brora; ICS Retail, Dunrobin Street, Helmsdale and at McColls, Strathnaver Street, Helmsdale.

Sheriff Sutherland deferred sentence until February 14 for background reports.
