Man (33) on attempted murder charge after alleged Tain incident

A 33-year-old Ross-shire man appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court on a charge of attempted murder after an alleged stabbing in Tain at the weekend.

Daniel Sutherland made no plea to the charge and to a second of possession of a bladed article.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

He will appear again within the next eight days.
