Tomorrow's market at the Armadale Village Hall looks set to be another very popular event with 17 stallholders signed up to attend.

Organiser of the North Coast Market, Fiona Macfarlane is delighted to have seven or eight food stalls coming along to the event as she has been keen to try and build up the produce side of things. Traybakes will be among the items up for sale and visiting the market for the first time will be a florist.

With the forecast looking good, Fiona has her fingers crossed for another good turnout. With so many stalls being set up in the hall the organiser is going to be outside with her fruit and veg.

Fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs will be on sale at the market.

The North Coast Market, which runs from 11am to 3pm, has been held in the Armadale Village Hall before. "We were the first event in the new hall and it is beautiful," said Fiona. "It is a good halfway place for those coming from Tongue/Bettyhill and Thurso. If the weather is nice people might come out and make a day of it."

The market will run from 11am to 3pm, and it is hoped that tea and coffees will be available.

Photos of some of the exhibitors attending can be seen on the North Coast Market Facebook page. A competition is also being run on the page – guess how many tealights are in a bowl – with the winner receiving a £10 voucher to spend at the market.

The page has proved beneficial with people getting in touch to try and order things they have seen featured in posts.

Last month's market, held in the Halladale Inn, Melvich, was well attended despite wintry weather conditions. Fiona said: "We had a brilliant day, all the stallholders were happy and it was really, really busy – we were very lucky."

There was a lot of local support in Melvich with people keen to get out again and attend an event, particularly with there being no village hall at the moment.

Next month's event is scheduled to take place in the Kyle of Tongue Hostel and Holiday Park, on Saturday, April 23.
